Coptic Orthodox Youth Association (COYA)
About Us!
Welcome to COYA! Whether you're exploring or are a member of the same faith, our group offers students a safe place to connect with God and others, ask questions, and reflect on themselves. Our meetings are held once a week and consist of fellowship and fruitful discussion on varying topics within the Orthodox faith. Our goal is to foster community, serve, and to discuss aspects of the Orthodox Christian faith. In addition to our weekly meetings, we also break off into small groups, providing students with the opportunity for further growth and closer relationships with our brothers and sisters in Christ. Various events will be held throughout the semester. Everyone is welcome, regardless of your religious background!

A weekly discussion guided by either a club or church member on a religious, spiritual, or social topic of importance

A weekly class dedicated to teaching advanced seasonal hymns sang in Coptic

A various set praises of the Coptic Church sang at night consisting of events from the Bible and commemorations of saints
Thursdays @ 7:30pm — Heinz Chapel
*1st and 3rd Thursdays of the month (i.e. alternates every other week with Bible Study) -
Biweekly gathering where we discuss a chapter a week from a book in the Holy Bible

Thursdays @ 7:30pm — Panera Bread (Boulevard of the Allies)
*2nd and 4th Thursdays of the month (i.e. alternates every other week with Tasbeha) -
A meeting where we contemplate on the life of a modern saint. Discussion is followed by venerations and a mini tasbeha.
